Around the Farm, on my ATV.

I'm trying something that's a little different. I'm sitting at the back of our property on my ATV with the iPad, wireless keyboard and my camera and iPhone. I'm out here with my dog Bear enjoying the fall colours and smelling the dead leaves on the ground (I love that smell, btw.)

One of the reasons I got the iPad was so I could blog from where ever but I've never really gotten around to doing it. I'm gonna try and be a better blogger, I swear. :o)

Off in the distance we can hear the random bangs associated with hunting. Bear DOES NOT like this sound. It does sound far away but sound travels well around here. At least he found himself a big old stick to chew on and he seems content in a patch of shade that he's found. He will not let me get out of his line of sight though, he's not that brave!

There is a lot of yellow happening here this year. It has something to do with the temperatures at night that makes the leaves change different colours. I really love it when the leaves turn red but it's not in the cards this year. There are a couple of red trees but mostly yellow and orange.

I got the camera connection kit from Apple so I could connect my Canon to the iPad. It works REALLY well! Here is a picture I took a few minutes ago of a tree right at the back here:

Isn't it lovely?

Damn, lots more gun play. Bear is getting a little antsy. I might have to take him back to the house before I can continue. Let's see how it goes. He's pacing back and forth out here with his big old stick.

Here's a shot of Bear at the back before the guns play started. He looks like he's smiling. :o)

Okay, Bear is not happy. I have to take him back to the house. :o(
Damn hunters.

Laters. :o)B

Just another blog test V3

I realized that a setting I was using was sending a copy if the photos I was including in my blog posts off into my Flickr Account. I don't want a bunch of duplicate photos so I think I might have changed the setting correctly.

Now it should send a copy of the photo to my "Upland on the Grand" album in Picasaweb.

This is a picture of the things I used to make the spicy pumpkin soup. It was amazing. If you want the recipe, go to:

Incommune Recipe Dump

The first recipe is the one I used. It was just the right amount of spicy. Enough to clear out your sinuses but not too much that you don't taste the second spoonful.

I will definitely be making it again.

Now, hopefully that photo went to Picasa, not Flickr.

:o)B

Okay, this is the third time I've tried to get the hyperlink to work. Still not sure so here's the website if you want to find the recipe.

Ooh, the drama.

The sky can be so dramatic sometimes! I thought I'd share a few photos from a couple of weeks ago:

The sky was in much turmoil and it stormed and raged for a while. I snapped these shots with my Canon 50D and then transferred them onto the iPad using the Apple Connection Kit. Wow, plug & play at its finest!! I plugged the camera into the iPad with my USB cable and BANG! The pictures were there, displaying on the screen. I am impressed.

Back to knitting for me for now. I'm furiously making Christmas gifts. Have a great rest of day to all!

Trying Another App

I really want to find an easy way to blog from the iPad. I found this app called BlogPress that seems to be what I need. Time will tell.

This picture is from the other night. It was a stormy/rainy and very grey day but near the end of the day the sky started to break. The pink setting sun is shining off the remaining clouds as the sun set.

It looked like pink cotton candy against a beautiful blue sky. This is the blue that has inspired my newest Girasole.

Here's a picture of the centre of my second Girasole. I'm making it with worsted weight Patons Decor yarn which is 25% wool for warmth but 75% acrylic so it can be machine washed/dry. I'm using 6.5mm Addi Turbos in varying lengths. The longest one I have is 120 cm.

I think I might like this app. If it makes it easier for me to post blog entries, I might be more apt to actually do that more often ;o)

Cheers and Happy Sunday all!
